RICH BROWN

Rich Brown is the Co-Founder of the American Warrior Society and the Co-Host of America’s leading self-defense podcast, The American Warrior Show. Rich has also been the Co-Host of the Across the Peak Podcast.

Before coming to the American Warrior Society, Rich was a Regional Manager for Disaster Preparedness and Government Operations for the American Red Cross.

Rich is also a retired U.S. Marine with over 23 years of service. During his time with the U.S. Marine Infantry, he was deployed to the Republic of the Philippines for security and stabilizing operations after the failed coup attempt of 1989. In 1990 and 1991, Rich participated in ground combat during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. The following year, Rich was deployed with the 26th Marine Expedition Unit (Special Operations Capable), where he participated in Operation Provide Promise during the Yugoslav Wars. Rich later received orders to teach small arms, patrolling, military operations in urban terrain, and close combat at the Marine Corps School of Infantry (East).

In 1995 Rich briefly left the Marine Corps to serve as a Corrections Officer and Special Operations Response Team Officer with the Knox County Sheriff’s Department. Before returning to the Marines, Rich transferred to a City Police Department, where he served as a Patrolman, defensive tactics instructor, and firearms instructor. While in Law Enforcement, Rich attended the Police Academy, where he received the Director’s Award for Leadership. During this time, Rich also ran a small private training company that instructed law enforcement officers in firearms and defensive tactics.

Rich returned to the Marine Corps in 1998, spent the next 14 years on recruiting duty, and retired from the Marines as a Chief Warrant Officer-3 in 2012.

Rich is a distinguished graduate of numerous military operations, law enforcement, and corrections schools. Rich holds belts in Gracie Barra Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Kinami Ryu Aiki Jujutsu, Judo, MCMAP, and Okinawan Freestyle Karate. Rich is also a published author with a B.S. in Social Psychology from Park University.

In his spare time, Rich enjoys drinking coffee and writing about himself in the third person.
